The name “Chantilly” began in France with the Château de Chantilly, around 25 miles north of Paris.
Chantilly is a piece of the Washington metropolitan range and is around 25 miles (39 km) from Washington, D.C., by means of Interstate 66 and U.S. Highway 50. The Chantilly CDP is halfway situated between Centreville, Virginia toward the Southwest, Herndon, Virginia and Reston, Virginia, toward the North and Northeast, individually, and Fairfax, Virginia, which is around 5 miles toward the east.
